How to play sight word bingo
Five minutes of prep, then it runs itself.
- 1
Print and cut
One card per player, plus the caller sheet cut into squares.
- 2
Draw a word and say it
Pull a square and read it aloud — don't show it. Hearing the word is the practice.
- 3
Players find and cover it
Anyone with that word on their card covers the square with a counter.
- 4
Five in a row wins
Across, down or diagonally. The winner reads their line back to check it.
What's in the PDF
8 unique cards
Every card draws from the same list but in a different order, so no two players cross off the same square at the same time.
5 × 5 grid with a free centre
Big enough for a real game, small enough that a young child can scan it without losing their place.
A caller sheet
Every word in the list as a small cut-out square. Cut once, fold them into a cup, and draw.

Same cards, three different games.
Blackout
Cover the whole card instead of a line. Takes longer and gets every word read.
Let a child call
The caller reads more words than anyone — give the job to whoever needs the most practice.
Reverse it
Call a definition or use the word in a sentence and let players find it themselves.
